On June 24–25, 2025, the IV International Veterinary Forum on Pig Breeding, organized by the International Industrial Academy and the National Union of Pig Breeders, was held at the International Industrial Academy.
The event became a platform for exchanging experience and discussing topical issues of veterinary medicine in pig breeding.
Speaking at the opening of the forum, Yuri Kovalev, General Director of the National Union of Pig Breeders, noted that the largest domestic manufacturers of veterinary drugs, such as GC VIC, provide more than 90% of the market's needs, which confirms the industry's independence from imports.He also said that in 2005, Russia produced only 400 thousand tons of pork, and now produces about 5 million.
The event program included a plenary session "Veterinary in pig breeding. Current state, problems and prospects" and a focus session "Topical issues of veterinary medicine in pig breeding. Import substitution". Leading experts from various veterinary companies made presentations.
