A municipal emergency regime has been introduced in four districts of Crimea due to the partial loss of fruit orchard crops. This was reported by RIA Novosti by the Minister of Agriculture of Crimea, Denis Kratyuk.

According to him, plum, cherry, and peach plantings in Crimea suffered from late frosts. The crop loss for these cultures ranges from 15 to 20 percent.

"The municipal emergency regime is being introduced in the Nizhnegorsky, Krasnogvardeisky, Sovetsky, and Belogorsky districts," the minister said.

The introduction of an emergency regime is necessary to compensate for losses to agricultural producers.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture of Crimea reported that in April and early May, temperatures in some areas of the peninsula dropped to -9 degrees Celsius at night. In addition, the extremely low moisture content in the productive soil layer played a negative role. In Crimea, this indicator reached its lowest level in the last 40 years.

According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the area of land affected by frosts and drought amounted to 36,785.4 hectares. 3,074.52 hectares of vineyards were affected by frosts. This is approximately one-seventh of all plantings on the peninsula.
