On September 19, 2025, under the leadership of State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Maxim Uvaidov, a zonal meeting was held on issues of ensuring veterinary well-being in the regions of the Volga and Ural Federal Districts. The event, which took place in the Saratov region, was attended by representatives of federal agencies, businesses, industry unions and associations. The meeting was attended by Galina Bobyleva, General Director of Rosptitsesoyuz, and Vladimir Kurlenko, Deputy General Director of the National Union of Pig Breeders (members of Rosagropromsoyuz).
Veterinary safety is one of the key factors for ensuring the country's food security. Regions need to carry out anti-epizootic measures in a timely and high-quality manner.
Maxim Uvaidov noted that livestock accounting is the basis for planning absolutely all activities in animal husbandry. In particular, the availability of vaccines for farm animals in the regions directly depends on the completeness and correctness of the information entered. The Deputy Minister also reminded about the need to comply with the accounting deadlines in the "Khorriot" system.
Exercises also play an important role, allowing for interdepartmental cooperation in the event of a threat of outbreaks of particularly dangerous animal diseases, as well as their localization and elimination. Last year, almost 1.5 thousand such events were organized. In the Saratov region, staff exercises were held on September 18. The event was attended by representatives of the state veterinary services of the Saratov and Penza regions, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, and units of regional environmental protection and healthcare authorities. More than 30 units of special equipment were involved.
Also, during his working trip to the Saratov region, Maxim Uvaidov met with Governor Roman Busargin. The parties discussed the development of animal husbandry and issues of disease prevention in the region.
