The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia is accepting applications from May 26 to June 2 as part of the competitive selection of rural tourism development projects for the next year.
Small agricultural producers can receive up to 10 million rubles to create and equip tourist accommodation, catering facilities, and tourist attractions.
Agrotourism grants have been issued since 2022. During this time, over 300 farms from 54 regions have received them, and the total amount of support has exceeded 2 billion rubles. The implementation of these projects is expected to create over 700 new jobs. In addition, the development of rural tourism allows entrepreneurs to increase sales of farm products. In recent years, this area has become a new growth point for small agribusiness: a way to generate additional income and expand sales. Farmers offer interesting excursions, master classes, tastings, an introduction to the production process, and much more. The interest of Russians in this type of recreation is also growing: agrotourism facilities created with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture have already been visited by over 1.1 million people.
