Today in Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut, held negotiations with the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom, Abdulrahman Al-Fadli.
Saudi Arabia is one of Russia's key partners in the agro-industrial complex in the Middle East. In recent years, the interaction between our countries has significantly strengthened – the volume of mutual trade in agricultural products exceeds 1 billion dollars. At the same time, in 2024, Russian exports increased by 24%. In particular, supplies of barley, poultry meat, and beef increased. Significant volumes of wheat are also exported to the Saudi market.
Another promising area of cooperation is the supply of Russian-made veterinary vaccines to Saudi Arabia. In addition, our country is actively developing competencies in the field of breeding and genetics. In recent years, significant successes have been achieved in these areas. The Saudi side expressed interest in Russian developments, including the Smena 9 broiler chicken cross.
Also, as part of the negotiations, Oksana Lut and Abdulrahman Al-Fadley discussed cooperation in scientific and educational spheres, in particular, the training of Saudi students in Russian agricultural universities and other relevant topics.
